Overview
This Manual Handling course is designed to give learners the knowledge and practical skills needed to move and handle objects safely within a healthcare or workplace setting. The course covers the principles of safe manual handling, common causes of injury, risk awareness, and correct moving techniques.
Learners will gain an understanding of how to reduce the risk of injury to themselves and others when lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or supporting loads as part of their role.

Who is this course suitable for?
This course is suitable for healthcare professionals, healthcare assistants, support workers, nurses, carers and anyone involved in assisting people with mobility.
Do I need any previous experience?
No previous experience is required. The course is suitable for new learners as well as those refreshing their existing knowledge.
How long is the certificate valid?
The certificate is valid for 1 year, with refresher training recommended in line with employer policies and best practice.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing and flat, enclosed footwear suitable for practical activities.
What should I bring with me?
No equipment is required. All training materials and moving and handling equipment will be provided.
What happens if I am unable to attend?
