Overview
The Practical Haemovigilance & Blood Transfusion Skills course provides healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical competencies required to safely undertake blood transfusion procedures in accordance with current regional policies, national guidance and best practice.
Through a combination of theory, demonstrations and supervised practical assessment, learners will develop competence in patient identification, blood component collection and checking, safe administration of blood products, documentation requirements, monitoring patients during transfusion, recognising adverse transfusion reactions and responding appropriately.
The course is designed to promote patient safety, reduce transfusion errors and support compliance with local haemovigilance standards.
